Brahmastra Review: Story

Brahmastra Part I – Shiva is the first installment of the trilogy, in which Ranbir Kapoor plays the lead role of Shiva, while Alia Bhatt plays the character Isha, Ranbir’s love interest. Brahmastra is a heady blend of Hindu mythology and sci-fi elements that serves as the backdrop for a love story that is unusual to say the least. Shiva (Ranbir Kapoor) is a DJ who has a cosmic connection with fire, falls for Isha (Alia Bhatt) at first sight .

As his vision of destruction becomes clearer and unknowingly destined to awaken the Brahmastra, he crosses paths with Guru Ji (Amitabh Bachchan), the leader of the Brahmansh, a secret society of sages who harness Brahma-power. Meanwhile, Junoon (Mouni Roy), the queen of the dark forces, must find the broken piece of the Brahmastra and succeed in her evil plan.

As for the performance, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt live up to the characters of Shiva and Isha. Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of Guru ji and there is probably nothing that he can not play on screen. Nagarjuna Akkineni portrays Nandi Astra along with his character Anish Shetty, while Mouni Roy is the surprise element of the film, Brahmastra. Cameos by Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Dimple Kapadia enhance the experience.
