CAT Exam Full Form: The full form of CAT is the Common Admission Test. CAT is a Computer Based Entrance Examination which is conducted for admission to management programs offered by top Indian Institutes. Overall it is an online test of three hours divided into one hour for each section. The examination is started by the IIMs (Indian Management Institutes).
The CAT examination is conducted for selecting candidates for their business administration courses such as PGDM or MBA through the exam. The examination is conducted annually by an IIM, on a rotational basis. CAT is widely regarded as one of the most challenging entrance exams in the world, with a pass rate of less than five percent.

What Is a Common Admission Test?
A Common Entrance Test is a computer-based entrance test conducted for admission to management programs offered by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other top B-schools in the country. The test consists of three sections –
- VARC (Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension)
- DILR (Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning) and
- Logical Reasoning
To apply for CAT, candidates must have a graduation degree or equivalent grade with at least 50% marks from any university recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Candidate must also appear in Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIM or GMAT.
