West Bengal Extends Covid-19 Lockdown Till 15th June 2021: The Government of West Bengal has extended the Covid-19 lockdown on Thursday till 19th June 2021. The ongoing lockdown was to end on 30th May 2021. The announcement was made by the Chief Minister of WB Mamta Banarjee. As per reports, State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has sought the cooperation of the people of Bengal and appealed to them, “Please do not call it a lockdown. The number of Covid-19 has come down. In the interest of the economy, there will be no lockdown.”
Under the ongoing lockdown restriction imposed in Bengal like, there is an indefinite prohibition functioning of shopping malls, markets, restaurants and bars, gyms, and swimming pools, which will continue till July 15. Meantime, West Bengal has 1,23,377 active cases while 11,79,999 patients have recovered from the disease, including 19,071 since Tuesday.
CM Mamata Banerjee further said that the Class XII examination will be held in the last week of July 2021. And the secondary(Madhyamik) examination will be taken in mid-August. “We will conduct secondary and higher secondary examinations in compliance with all COVD-19 safety protocols,” Banerjee told reporters at the state secretariat.
